Welcome to a l’Epoque. With us you come mainly to slow down: silence, comfort and a warm welcome, without fuss. You will discover the region at your own pace, with tips tailored to your needs. Our tip: preferably stay two nights – then it really feels like a mini vacation instead of ‘just sleeping’.
a l’Epoque is located in a quiet, rural setting – perfect for unwinding and exploring the region at your leisure. Think markets, heritage, short walks and fine addresses. We are happy to give you a relaxed 2-day program tailored to your needs.
Chambres et table d’hôtes a l’Epoque is located near the town of Bouges-le-Château in the department of Indre, in the heart of central France. Here you can cycle, walk, visit castles, play golf or simply enjoy the tranquility of our large garden. The famous Beauval Zoo is about a 35-minute drive away.
Our four rooms are housed in a characteristic 18th-century farmhouse with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Each room has its own entrance from the garden, providing privacy and a relaxing atmosphere.
In the common dining room – located in the former goat barn – we serve a full breakfast at the long table in the morning. In the evening you can join us for an atmospheric dinner with a good glass of French wine. During the day this is also a nice place to relax with a book or a game. Coffee and tea are included with your stay, and in the guest refrigerator you will find soft drinks, beer, wine and small snacks (for a fee).

About a l'Epoque
The chambres d’hôtes is a 10-minute drive from the A20 motorway and is therefore ideally located for those wishing to interrupt their journey for an (intermediate) stop. It is about 250 kilometers below Paris towards Limoges.
Our chambres d’hôtes is completely non-smoking. The dining room and guest rooms are non-smoking. By agreement, smoking is allowed on the terrace, provided it does not disturb the other guests.
Dogs are welcome by arrangement, provided they are social and vaccinated. We have 2 sweet dogs of our own. Karma is a white shepherd of over 11 years and Bobby is a long-haired dachshund of 15 years. We also have 3 cats. Milou is our “you know” tomcat, Saartje is a stubborn cat and then we have Rosie who has been connected to this place for years.

We recommend 2 nights: that way you really have time for the garden, the peace and quiet and an excursion (Valençay, Brenne...). One night is possible, but two nights is the real slow-stay experience.
Yes, by reservation you can join us in the evening at our table d'hôtes: a homely 3-course meal with beautiful French products and herbs from our own garden.
Yes. All rooms have a private entrance from the garden and have private bathrooms.
